We recently had problems with an online data backup solution that damaged data queues in the EMR interfaces. These data queues are an integral part of our interface system. Data queues are for real-time mission critical communication of data and part of that task is to contain data as a buffer for temporary outages. For that reason, backups of these objects are of little value as the data is fleeting, there one moment and gone the next. For this mission critical role, they are treated differently in recovery situations, but it is imperative that they not be affected by other processes. This third party software is supposed to be a contingency against failure, but in this instance the product actually damaged the data queues. The data backup solution defeated it’s own purpose. The DSM contract stipulates that there are to be no “unauthorized copies” of our system made. So, to avoid licensing issues, please contact DSM and get authorization to have third party products make copies of our system before signing any contracts with third party backup solutions.

We have seen interest in this product across the board. Currently, the Tax Applications have been changed, so if you are in a Tax Office and are interested in a “NEW LOOK” for your green screens, then feel free to contact me or our Columbus office. Next in line are the Justice Court offices and the Municipalities. I do not have any set dates, but will be sure to keep you all informed as we go along.

We are confident that we have taken the time required over the years to bring you a quality product. It takes a committment on our part to listen to our clients needs, to “roll with the flow” as the laws change and to try to do it all in a way that makes everyone, or at least the majority happy.
Recently it was brought to our attention, there were several of our clients that would prefer a “Newer Look”. So DSM took this matter seriously and decided to make the necessary changes. We have begun working on our green screens. This work is under way, but we would like to get some feedback from our clients to see where the interests lie.
If the interests lie mainly in one office, then naturally, DSM would work on that office first. If the interest is across the board, then we will do a roll out.
This product is already completed in Mississippi County Arkansas, and it has been installed. I have not heard back yet as to how they are liking (or not) the finished product.

You never seem to have a lot of problems out of it. It’s just always there, running along in the background. Whether you have a good or bad day, it’s always constant. Of all the things I could be talking about, I’m having reference to your trusty IBM. I’m sure you are aware of how well your IBM works, and I’m certain it has proven itself to have longevity. So with a product that works really well, and is reliable too, just how did IBM become the 100 year old company they are today?
